Pearly light pools across the inside of each abalone shell, shifting between champagne, seafoam, and blush like sun on the surface of a tide pool. A row of small holes curves along the edge, the openings abalone use to breathe, and they give each shell its own rhythm. These were sourced from an abalone farm, then sanded and polished by hand in my studio until the nacre glows, and every one has its own mix of shimmer, from soft cream and pink to cool aqua-green. The shell hangs from a polished bubble huggie hoop in 18k gold PVD plating, joined by etched 18k gold filled hardware that lets the light move across its surface as you turn. These are sold separately, so wear one as a glowing accent or mix two into a stack.
